All Day Art: A 24-Hour Art Festival Celebrating International Museum Day

A Unique Concept Inspired by Red Eyes

The All Day Art festival in Blanca, Spain, is an intensive artistic celebration that takes place outdoors for a full 24 hours. Inspired by the red eyes that participants develop after immersing themselves in this art marathon, the festival's graphic identity and design elements capture the essence of this unique event.

The All Day Art festival, organized to commemorate International Museum Day, offers residents and visitors an artistic explosion that lasts throughout the day and night. The festival's main artwork is inspired by the red eyes that participants inevitably develop after 24 hours of non-stop art appreciation. This visual representation of red eyes serves as the foundation for the festival's identity, signaling system, and promotional elements.

The design team at Estudio Maba, led by designer Manel Quilez, has created a concept that captures the impact and intensity of the All Day Art festival. The design elements, including temporary signage, fabric tote bags, custom eye drop boxes, promotional flyers, and badges, aim to generate a powerful visual impact that complements the ephemeral nature of the event.

The temporary signage, made from cut vinyl, guides visitors through the streets of Blanca, ensuring they don't miss any of the exhibitions. A fabric tote bag is provided for visitors to collect books left by doors throughout the day, adding to the interactive and immersive experience. Promotional flyers and badges serve as souvenirs, allowing participants to remember and share their experience long after the festival ends.

The design team faced several challenges in creating a signage system that effectively guided and promoted the event. The temporary nature of the festival required a vocabulary that generated interest and could be easily removed after 24 hours. Through collaboration with the Blanca Town Hall, the team analyzed the layout of the events and found the most appropriate solutions to communicate the exhibition message.

The All Day Art festival's graphic identity, with its bloodshot eye motif, is a testament to the creativity and ingenuity of the design team. The design elements, from the temporary signage to the merchandising items, create a cohesive and immersive experience for participants, ensuring they don't miss a single moment of this extraordinary 24-hour art festival.

The All Day Art festival, designed by Estudio Maba, is a testament to the power of art to captivate and inspire. Its unique concept and visually striking design elements have earned it the Bronze A' Design Award in 2019, recognizing its outstanding creativity and contribution to the world of art, design, and technology.
